Autism and ageing

The online webinar will explore the changing decisions that older people face; autism and retirement as well as research on what we know and don’t know, health inequalities and quality of life.

The first part of the evening will consist of a panel of contributors who will provide their own experiences. We will then be joined by guest speaker Dr Rebecca Charlton who will present on relevant research and insights into the topic. Following the panellists’ contributions there will be audience Q & A.

Guest Speaker:

Dr Rebecca Charlton – Rebecca is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Goldsmiths. Her research focuses on changes in later-life and the factors that promote healthy ageing. Her research examines cognition, social-cognition and mood in later-life. Her work also examines how ageing effects autistic adults in terms of both cognition and well-being. Rebecca works with charity partners to examine the factors that promote well-being in ageing and individuals with dementia. She leads Gold Age Lab.
